We at H.O.P.E.S. work everyday to prevent this from happening. Now H.O.P.E.S. is offering you a chance to help those less fortunate than you. H.O.P.E.S. needs volunteers this year to collect zakat and donations this Ramadan through our door to door campaign.

H.O.P.E.S. ZAKAT CAMPAIGN

The holy month of Ramadan is just 10 days away and we at H.O.P.E.S have decided to kick start the zakat campaign. As most of you already know most of the funds we collect during Ramadan are collected by H..O.P.E.S. volunteers who go door to door in different housing societies across Karachi and convince the occupants to give their zakat to support the cause of H.O.P.E.S. This year the following housing societies have been shortlisted:

• ASKARI.
• MALIR CANT.
• FALCON.

Relief work for natural disaster victims throughout Pakistan

In the past few years H.O.P.E.S. has also worked for the victims of natural disasters nationwide. Our volunteers showed endless support to the flood victims of Badin and Dadu districts of Sindh in the calamity that hit their homes in 2010 and 2011.

This was carried out in two phases in rescue phase we established medical camps and dispensed drugs of worth more than 2 million rupees. Along with this we provided milk and food items to 7 IDPs camps in Dadu city and supplied rashan of worth more than 5 million rupees. After thjs the second phase (rehabilitation phase) started. Over 124 houses and 3 mosques were built.

We have spent more than five millions rupees up till now for rehabilitation. 

Important events in the H.O.P.E.S. Calendar

There are three important events in the H.O.P.E.S. calendar during which zakat and donations are collected to fund the noble cause. 

 These events are:

• H.O.P.E.S. Fun Fiesta.

• H.O.P.E.S. Zakat Campaign during the holy month of Ramadan.

• H.O.P.E.S. Hides campaign during the month of Zilhajj.

H.O.P.E.S. FUN FIESTA:

H.O.P.E.S. Fun Fiesta is an annual event organized by the students of KMDC. It is the most exciting event of the year. Last year it was celebrated at Sindbad adjacent Nisar Shaheed Park, DHA Karachi. We sold more than 3000 tickets for this event. This year the event was held at Go Aish Adventure Park. Over 5000 tickets were sold for this event. 

Our prime objective is to generate adequate funds to continue our work efficiently. This Fiesta provides a platform for students to enjoy their day for a cause. Corporate companies also participate in this event. 

H.O.P.E.S. ZAKAT CAMPAIGN:

In the holy month of Ramadan, our volunteers go door to door to collect Zakat and donations. Funds are collected from hospitals, shopping malls, markets and institutions all over Karachi. Last year close to 2.5 million rupees were collected. 

H.O.P.E.S. HIDES CAMPAIGN:

Every year on Eid-ul-Adha, H.O.P.E.S. collects hides of the sacrificial animals throughout the city and through their sales generates funds.

Last Eid-ul-Adha hides worth more than 5 lacs were collected which were spent on medicines for our drug bank.

About Us

Help Of Patients in Exigency by the Students of K.M.D.C. (H.O.P.E.S.) is a registered, non-political welfare organization which aims to alleviate human suffering by helping the patients of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases. To date H.O.P.E.S. has dispensed more than 46 million rupees worth of medical supplies free of cost.

We provide the following services:

• A 24 hour no profit-no loss Pharmacy at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital(ASH), Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases(KIHD) and Dental OPD, KMDC.
• Free Drug Bank for patients of ASH and KIHD. 
• Radiological and diagnostic services to patients of ASH and KIHD.
• Arrangement of blood and blood products.
• Provision of surgical items.
• Relief work for natural disaster victims throughout Pakistan.

We make these services possible with the donations and Zakat we get from people from our campaigns throughout the year.

Establishment of a 24 hour Diagnostic Lab and Blood Bank at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
